According to the Herald Tribune report, a 53-year-old man from Clearwater hit the jackpot and won a prize of one million dollars i.e. Rs 8 crore 38 lakhs. The US lottery winner gave up the annual income bonus and instead accepted a lump sum payment of $640,000 i.e. about Rs 5 crore 37 lakhs.
The winnings didn’t stop there, as lottery officials said the retailer, The Chevron, also received a bonus commission of $2,000 for selling the lucky ticket. Figueiredo is not the only person to win big in this game. According to lottery data, 144 other people have won $1 million or Rs 8 crore 38 lakh since March last year.

The Florida Lottery says the overall odds of winning something in this game are 1 in 4.5. The odds of winning a million dollars are 1 in 185,709, which is the best odds of becoming a millionaire in any game in the Florida Lottery.
This news comes after the Daily Star reported that a waitress won a lotto prize of Rs 83.9 crore. Tonda Dickerson was working at a Waffle House in the US when a customer gave her the ticket as a tip.
The then 22-year-old from Alabama was recently divorced when her life changed forever in 1999. She quit her job and chose an annual payment of $375,000 or Rs 31.5 million over 30 years.
